Data Safety
Last updated · July 15, 2026
This page is the companion to ClipCam's Google Play Data safety form and the Apple App Store privacy nutrition label. It explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and how it's protected. The full legal picture lives in our Privacy Policy.
Data we collect
- Personal info — email address or phone number (for sign-in OTP). Display name and avatar are optional.
- Photos and videos — your camera reactions, the source clips you choose, and the finished exports we render for you. Stored on our servers until you delete them or close your account.
- App activity — which screens you open, how long exports take, which features you use. Used to fix bugs and improve the product.
- App info and performance — crash logs, OS version, app version, device model.
- Financial info — subscription status only. We never see or store your card details; Apple App Store and Google Play Store handle billing.
- Advertising ID — when ads are shown, your device's advertising identifier and limited ad-interaction data, used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads.
Why we collect it
- App functionality — the service literally cannot work without your account info and your media.
- Account management — sending OTPs, saving your profile and export library.
- Analytics — diagnosing crashes, measuring export throughput, prioritizing fixes.
- Advertising — showing and measuring the limited ads that keep some features free.
Data sharing
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Advertising — when we show ads (via Google AdMob), Google and its partners may collect your device's advertising identifier to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where you consent. See the Advertising section of our Privacy Policy.
- We do not use your videos to train AI models.
- Limited sharing with service providers — Google Cloud (Cloud Run hosting), Cloudflare R2 (media storage), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), an email/SMS provider for OTP delivery, Apple App Store and Google Play Store for billing. All bound by data-processing agreements.
Security
- Encrypted in transit — all traffic between your device and our servers uses HTTPS / TLS 1.2+.
- Encrypted at rest — your videos are stored encrypted by the cloud provider's server-side encryption.
- Password-less auth — we use one-time codes, so there's no password for an attacker to leak.
Your controls
- Delete a single clip — Assets → swipe / long-press → Delete. Removes the camera + source + export copies from our servers within 24 hours.
- Delete your entire account — Profile → Settings → Delete account. Removes everything within 30 days. Cannot be undone.
- Cancel your subscription — Apple ID Settings (iOS) or Play Store account (Android). We don't store payment methods so there's nothing to revoke on our side.
- Control ad personalization — respond to the in-app consent prompt, or use your device ad settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
- Request your data — email support@clipcam.app and we'll deliver an export of your account data within 30 days.
Children
ClipCam isn't designed for kids under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're a parent and believe your child created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Region-specific rights
- EU / UK (GDPR) — access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, lodging a complaint with your data protection authority.
- California (CCPA / CPRA) — know, delete, correct, opt out of sale (we don't sell), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- India (DPDP Act 2023) — access, correction, erasure, and grievance redressal at the email below.
